Damodar kunda (lake) is situated at the lap of high Himalayas in Upper Mustang area of Nepal. The elevation of the Damodar Kunda is just 4890 meters it is cold and windy place. We will recommend you to visit it during the full moon of August because every year a big festival occurs at this place where thousands of Hindu and Buddhist pligrmages gather from different regions of Nepal and India.The Damodar Kunda is famous in Hindu religion. Damodar Kunda has own history: In the column of barah puran Lord Krishna has said that who pays a visit ti this kunda and takes a deep bath, they will be freed from all the sin.It is also mentioned in Puran thet two sons of Kubers were sufering from their wrong doing and sin which they did in their previous birth but lord krishna suggested them to take bath in tis Kunda and innediately after taking bath in this kunda they were released from all their sin. The Tibetan plateau and Damodar Himal to the north and the Annapurna Himalayan massive to the south can be seen clearly. The Damodar lake is located at three Day walk from north east of the main Mustang trekking route and very close to Tibetan border. Damodar Kunda lies on restricted upper mustang between Kagbeni and Muktinath.
