Manaslu is one of the popular 8000m. peaks for climbing in the Himalayas of Nepal, especially among Japanese. Manaslu is the eighth highest mountain in the world, is located about forty miles east of Annapurna I. Manaslu means "Mountain of the Sprit" and it comes from the Sanskrit word Manasa meaning "intellect" or "soul". Traditionally, the spring season is the least hazardous from aspects of bad weather, snowfall and avalanches. Manaslu is one of the more rosky 8000m peaks to climb. The mountain's long ridges and valley glaciers offer feasible approaches from all directions. Possible avalanches in bad weather, crevasses and slippery snow make this mountain a little distinct from other mountains in Nepal . Normally four high camps are established in the approach. Crevasses between Camp I & Camp II and avalanche threat from Camp III to Camp IV are notable in climbing the peak.
