Round Manaslu Trekking

Round Manaslu trekking is one of the imminent geographical charismas dominating the historical kingdom of Gorkha. A conical shaped snow capped mountain of height 8156 meters above the sea level is the major attraction of this trekking package. Locally Manaslu is known as Pungen Ri whose embodiment is worshiped in a Gompa couple of hundred meter above the village of Sama Goan. Manaslu trekking is a well-loved trekking route, providing with pristine mountain views, rich culture and genuine adventure addition the trek experience around the Manaslu. Manaslu is the 8th highest peak in the world and is located near to the border of Nepal and Tibet. Round Manaslu trek is offers rich culture, adventure, scenic beauty and rudimental rural civilization that represents ancient Tibetan lifestyle. Due to the newly opened route, this trek encircling the entire Manaslu massiive, offers a chance to widely explore the full range of Nepal natural and cultural diversity. Trekking starts from historical city Gorkha, we head up towards the Mt. Manaslu, the trail reveals unexplored country inhabited by Gurungs.

Manaslu round trekking was officially opened to tourists in 1991, but mountaineering expeditions have long had access to the area. In 1950 a party led by HW Tilman trekked from Thonje to Bimtang and Colonel Jimmy Roberts crossed the Larkya La looking for an interesting mountain to climb. Though the Larkya La is not a difficult pass, the trek around Manaslu is harder than most in Nepal. In numerous places the walls of the Budhi Gandaki valley are vertical, so you cannot walkking beside the bottom of the valley. There is a enormous amount of wasted climbing involved during the first part of the trek as you climb up and downward over border or onto shelf to avoid cliff. The trail is rough and steep and it often literally hangs on a bluff high above the river. Manaslu (8156m.) was attempted by Japanese expeditions every year from 1952 until 1956, when the first ascent was made. It thus became known as a 'Japanese mountain', and much of the information about the area was available only in Japanese. The trek is remote and has no rescue facilities or opportunities to bail out if you are tired. The Japanese continued to dominate the climbing scene on Manaslu until 1971.
